It Was a Very Good Year

It's an amazing shot, worthy of being in the top ten of any "best astronomy photographs" list... but one detail in it was responsible for it being deemed the #1 astronomy picture of the year: that little blue dot at 10 o'clock, just inside the second to outermost ring, is Earth.
